The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has announced a major economic plan to secure Dh235 billion in investments by 2045. The strategy will create 130,000 new jobs, with a strong emphasis on the innovation sector. This growth will come through targeted investments, efforts to draw talent, and partnerships with the private sector.

ADDED’s vision centers on developing a stable economy that meets global standards. The department highlights the need for forward-thinking policies, dependable services, and clear regulatory systems to draw foreign investment. These measures have already delivered results, as Abu Dhabi has maintained steady real GDP growth for 18 straight quarters. Non-oil industries now make up over half of the emirate’s total economic activity, showing successful efforts to reduce reliance on oil.

The investment plan covers four key economic sectors, designed to create a varied and strong economic base. By focusing on innovation-driven roles, Abu Dhabi is positioning itself as a leader in advanced industries and a top destination for skilled workers. The emirate’s global ranking, among the top 10 economies by GDP per capita, shows its competitive edge.

Investors will benefit from Abu Dhabi’s balanced economy, backed by laws and regulations that support business development. The region’s advanced infrastructure and connected business networks make it easier for companies to set up operations, enter markets, and expand.

Abu Dhabi is recognized as a “capital of capital,” home to sovereign wealth funds overseeing more than $1.9 trillion in assets. Its AA sovereign credit rating, with a stable outlook, reinforces its reputation as a financially secure location for long-term commitments. The strategy will further establish Abu Dhabi as a leading global economic center.

Local reports indicate the plan also includes measures to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s role in global trade and innovation. The emirate’s focus on knowledge-based industries and high-value sectors aligns with its goal of becoming a model for sustainable economic development in the region.

Key milestones under the strategy involve expanding research and development initiatives, improving education and training programs, and supporting public-private collaborations. These steps will help Abu Dhabi maintain its position as a hub for cutting-edge industries while ensuring economic stability for future generations.
