The Barcham Tree Foundation Grant has opened a new avenue for schools, community groups, charities and other not‑for‑profit organisations to add up to 50 free trees to local projects across England, Scotland and Wales.
How the grant works and who can apply
The scheme, launched by the Barcham Tree Foundation, will fund up to ten projects this year. Each selected group receives between 20‑ and 65‑litre trees, with a maximum of fifty trees per project. The trees are sourced from the foundation’s own nursery, ensuring they match the conditions of each site.
Applicants must demonstrate a clear environmental benefit and a sustainable plan for long‑term care. It also requires that the landowner authorises the planting and that the group can manage the delivery and planting schedule.
To qualify, groups must be prepared to document their progress. The organization asks participants to share case studies, photographs and updates on social media, helping to showcase the impact of the program.
Timeline and application process
Applications are being accepted online now and will close on 30 September. The foundation expects to announce the successful projects on 19 October. Once chosen, tree deliveries and planting are scheduled to be completed by 30 April 2027.
Interested organisations can submit their proposals through the Barcham Trees website. The online form asks for details about the project scope, intended location, and how the trees will be maintained after planting.
