Interior designer Jasmine Fisher has transformed a rented office unit into a charming studio that showcases her love of art, craftsmanship, and materials. The 32sq m studio, located in the historic red-brick Pall Mall Deposit building in Ladbroke Grove, west London, is now a warm, layered space full of muted tones and curated artworks.
Fisher, who previously worked as a barrister, negotiated the fit-out with the landlord to create an environment that supports wellbeing and creativity. She explains that her experience as a lawyer in conventional, sterile office environments motivated her to design a space that would inspire and nurture her team.
The studio’s focus is a large table used for client meetings and design reviews, with nearby shelves housing a materials library. Workstations run along the back wall to make the most of the natural light from the large window. Rich colors and textures inform much of the design, with earthy colors like browns and pinks used to communicate a link to the natural world and evoke a sense of joy and positivity.
Dashes of bold red add a sense of confidence to the scheme, while objects sourced from artisans around the world bring character and soul to the space. These include Nemboro shamanic masks woven by indigenous women in the Panamanian rainforest and handwoven wall hangings from Colombia and North Africa.
Fisher’s Polynesian, Chinese, and English roots feed into her work, and she believes that understanding her clients’ heritage and memories is essential to creating meaningful interiors. She says, “I feel so lucky to have that connection to other cultures, and it’s something that I always look to in my clients.”

Throughout the studio, Fisher has curated a selection of artworks and objects that reflect her commitment to supporting traditional craftsmanship. She believes that interior designers have a responsibility to promote and preserve these skills, and that the resulting pieces bring depth and texture to a space.
The studio is designed to be a space where creativity can thrive, with a materials library and workstations that encourage collaboration and inspiration. Fisher’s goal is to create an environment that supports the wellbeing and creativity of her team, and that reflects her passion for art, craftsmanship, and materials.
As she notes, “Art is the starting point for our projects, and the pieces chosen for the studio are textural and layered, so they feel integral to the space, rather than hung on top of it.” This approach has resulted in a studio that is not only beautiful but also thought-provoking, with a unique character that sets it apart from more conventional office spaces.
In a world where fast-fashion design is increasingly prevalent, Fisher’s commitment to traditional craftsmanship and meaningful interiors is a refreshing change. Her studio showcases the power of good design to transform a space and promote wellbeing and creativity.
